This Privacy Policy explains how CopticLife ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our iOS application. By using CopticLife, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

CopticLife is designed to respect your privacy. We do NOT collect:

• Your name, email address, or personal information
• Account credentials (no account required)
• Your prayer history or spiritual practices
• Your location data
• Your contacts or photos
• Usage analytics or behavioral data

2. Data That Stays On Your Device

All of your personal data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. This includes:

• Prayer Progress: Which Agpeya hours you've prayed and your prayer streaks
• Bible Reading Progress: Your reading plan and completed readings
• App Settings: Text size preferences, dark mode settings, and notification preferences
• Selected Dates: Dates you've viewed in the calendar

Important: Because this data is stored only on your device, if you delete the app or erase your device, this data will be lost unless you've enabled iCloud sync (see below).

3. iCloud Sync (Optional)

CopticLife offers optional iCloud sync to keep your data synchronized across your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac).

What Gets Synced:

• Prayer progress and streaks
• Bible reading progress
• App settings and preferences

How iCloud Works:

• iCloud sync is completely optional and disabled by default
• You can enable or disable it anytime in the app's More → iCloud Sync settings
• Data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account
• We do not have access to your iCloud data
• Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy applies to synced data

4. Advertising (Free Version Only)

The free version of CopticLife displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Premium users do not see any ads.

4.1 App Tracking Transparency

When you first open the app, iOS will ask your permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. This is called App Tracking Transparency (ATT).

Your choice:

• Allow Tracking: You'll see personalized ads based on your interests
• Ask App Not to Track: You'll see non-personalized ads only

Either way, the app works exactly the same. Your choice only affects whether ads are personalized.

4.2 What Google AdMob May Collect

If you allow tracking, Google AdMob may collect:

• Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
• Advertising identifier (IDFA)
• Ad interaction data (which ads you view or tap)
• IP address (approximate location)

If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," AdMob will only collect minimal information needed to show non-personalized ads.

Important: We do not receive or have access to any of the data collected by AdMob. Google handles all ad serving and data collection.

4.3 How to Control Ad Tracking

You can change your tracking preferences anytime:

1. Open your device's Settings
2. Go to Privacy & Security → Tracking
3. Toggle CopticLife on or off

You can also reset your advertising identifier:

1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security
2. Go to Apple Advertising
3. Tap Reset Advertising Identifier

5. In-App Purchases

CopticLife uses Apple's StoreKit framework for the optional Premium upgrade ($4.99 one-time purchase).

• All payment processing is handled securely by Apple
• We do not collect or store your payment information
• Apple's Privacy Policy governs all purchase transactions
• We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed (not your payment details)

6. Data Security

Your data is secure because:

• All data is stored locally on your device, protected by iOS security
• iCloud data (if enabled) is encrypted in transit and at rest
• We do not operate servers that store your data
• We cannot access your prayer history or personal information

7. Children's Privacy

CopticLife is suitable for users of all ages, including children. Because we do not collect any personal information, there are no special concerns for children's privacy.

• No account creation required
• No personal information collected
• Ads (free version) comply with children's privacy regulations
• Parents can upgrade to Premium to remove all ads

8. Third-Party Services

CopticLife uses the following third-party services:

8.1 Apple Services

• iCloud (Optional): For syncing data across devices
• StoreKit: For in-app purchases
• Notification Services: For prayer reminders (local notifications only)

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your data:

9.1 Delete Your Data

To delete all your local data:

• Uninstall the CopticLife app from your device
• All locally stored data will be permanently deleted

9.2 Delete iCloud Data

To delete synced data from iCloud:

1. Open More → iCloud Sync in the app
2. Tap "Disable iCloud Sync"
3. Or go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → CopticLife → Delete Documents & Data

9.3 Control Ad Tracking

• iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → CopticLife (toggle off)
• Or upgrade to Premium to remove all ads

10. Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete the app
• iCloud Data: Retained in your iCloud account until you disable sync or delete the data
• We do not retain any data on our servers because we don't collect it in the first place

11. International Data Transfers

Because all data stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account, there are no international data transfers by CopticLife.

However, if you use iCloud sync, your data may be stored in Apple data centers worldwide according to Apple's iCloud policies.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Displaying a notice in the app
• Updating this webpage

Your continued use of CopticLife after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• We do not sell your personal information
• We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (after ATT opt-out)
• Because we don't collect personal information (beyond what AdMob may collect with your permission), most CCPA rights don't apply

14. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to Access: All your data is already accessible to you in the app
• Right to Erasure: Delete the app to erase all local data
• Right to Data Portability: Your data stays on your device and in your control
• Right to Object: You can opt out of ad tracking via iOS settings
